The evolution of planning processes for renewable energy

The sheer pace of technological development is putting pressure on planning policies, processes and officers. Policies and processes used to evolve slowly by consent and extensive consultation but the slow pace of change is now creating situations where conflicting perspectives are not managed through policy but by iterative application management and ultimately by appeal.

This is inefficient and stressful for all involved. What is needed is to develop new thinking and that is what we do at Element.
